If you have questions or comments about this policy, you may email us at contact@dyvna.com.
Dyvna was the name of Shirley Cook’s grandmother, her second mother growing up. She remembers cooking, dancing, nights staying up late, playing cards, speaking Serbo-Croatian together. Dyvna raised her own two daughters, Mika and Lili with the same spirit, alone in Belgrade while her husband was away fighting the Nazi regime. Everyday she wore a dress: elegant and charismatic.

Her strength as a mother and a woman raising two children alone in a country with incredibly limited resources and little to no support continues to be a source of inspiration for Cook.

Dyvna prints are custom, the logo hidden somewhere in each patterned fabric. There are silks, cottons and merino knits with hand braided trim and  custom hammered metal buttons. Ease and fit are paramount, every point of sale a complete look.  Zippers are behind the plackets of button front dresses eliminating the risk of exposure –– and nearly each dress has pockets. Every piece is available in sizes 0 to 18, and produced based on order and shipped flat to assure as little waste as possible.

All of Dyvna can be worn to the office or for a formal occasion depending on the chosen sweater or shoe. The styles range from peasant dresses, two piece sets: printed tunics and pants; notched collar slim dresses; embroidered eyelet jumpsuits and dozens of others.

Driven by Cook’s belief in fair work practices, there are no Dyvna employees –– everyone involved in the company is an equitable shareholder. There is no centralized office, as technology enables each employee –– living in New York, Argentina, Brazil, Hong Kong, Paris, and elsewhere –– to work together remotely.
